These highly successful residential dance weekenders have been running for many years. There is a choice of four or five events each year with each event taking a differing dance theme and level. Dance styles on offer include Salsa, Jive, Samba, Zook, Bachata, Merengue, Latin Ballroom, Tango and Belly Dancing to name but a few! Locations for each event vary, but the primary Pontins centres we use are Blackpool, Pakefield, Southport and Brean Sands. Accommodation is either self catering or half board. When to go?Summer events are always extremely popular. The friendly nature of salsa dancers means there are often open barbeques on every corner apartment block, music pumping ‘till the early hours and on warm days the dancing spills out of the main halls onto the apartment block gardens. Normally summer event caters for intermediate and advanced levels. Christmas – December event is probably the biggest of all the weekenders with plenty of opportunities for Christmas shopping at Heavenly Dance Shoes and the SalsaFever music store. Other times – the other dates tend to be smaller, more intimate weekenders or specialist dance styles; catering for beginners and improvers. A great time is always had by all. Beginners tend to flourish more at these events with smaller classes, evening activities and one-on-one focus.
You don't need to go in a big group !A huge percentage of Pontins weekend salseros go on their own.
